Interaction

The interaction is the most abstract way to describe a connection between two elements of a system. As such, it is, along with elements themselves, one of the basic constituents of any system.

It is through interactions that systems can be called as such, since otherwise their elements would be simply isolated entities. To say two elements interact is to say they exchange some resource, including information, or participate together in a same function, process or relation.
