Unit

In the context of a system, a unit is a basic constituent entity that makes up the system.

The two most fundamental units, also called core units, are:

• Elements, the entities involved and affected by interactions
• Interactions, the connecting phenomena happening within the boundary of a system that gives it cohesion

Other fundamental units are:

• Property, an interaction that allows ascribing qualities to units
• Cohesion, the chief property of all systems, without which they cannot be called systems at all
• Boundary, a property of a system that delimits its extent and what units fall within the context of its analysis
• Event, a property of a coorda element binding it to any number of elements that were present and interactions that happened within its range
