Offer of Deception

An offer of deception is a kind of bargain that a power system offers a mesodominant position.

The accepting position either is deceived themselves or can shift the deception onto others, employing it as a rhetoric.

For example, someone who is called out for their sexism can attempt to dismiss the need to acknowledge and act on this fault by taking one of the system's offers of deception, say, the notion that this individual action is not important in the big picture and therefore should be left as-is, then believe it themselves and/or attempt to make its denouncers believe it.
