Triviality

A trivial statement is one that is readily verifiable and usually uncontroversial. Not to be confused with moot.

While useful so as not to deter oneself in needlessly minutiose expositions, triviality can also carry some ideological connotation, although in this case it is less likely that it will be explicitly labeled as such. It's not to be seen as a truth that is given, but as a property worthy of proper consideration and justification.
