Cognition
Cognition is a system of mental processes in which thinking, perceptions, memory and attention interact. The articulation of these elements allows cognition to produce, retain and manipulate knowledge.
While the most established definition of cognition places other processes of the mind, such as feeling and emotion, outside of the sphere of cognition, it should be noted that even if we maintain such a division to leverage its consistency, that does not mean that only cognition is capable of producing knowledge. It can't be denied that cognition is just as capable of producing nonsense and that the claim that one's cognition is completely unaffected by their feelings and personal prejudices is highly naive.
