Suppression

Suppression is a position in economies of misery that posits those who are assigned a given symbol as inferior to those who possess the corresponding mesodominant symbol.

This suppression places the person in a situation of multiplied oppression, and those who possess the symbol they lack as mesodominant, meaning they can hold a superior position than those of the suppressed, but remain inferior in relation to the dominant.
